National Philanthropy

Our National Philanthropy is Pine Mountain Settlement School which is a school found in the Appalachia mountains of Southeastern Kentucky. It was originally created for students to learn about the environment and was eventually turned into a school teaching all aspects of education to its students.  Alpha Sigma Tau supports our philanthropy by hosting fundraising events and sending them our support whenever needed.

National Service Project

Our National Service Project as of 2004 is Habitat for Humanity, which helps free families that are stuck living in shelters by building them homes. We support this service project by fundraising money to donate to Habitat for Humanity as frequently as possible.

Local Service Project

Alpha Sigma Tau is very involved in the community. We have currently completed about 1,200 community service hours between all the girls this past semester. Alpha Sigma Tau was recently presented with the Community Service Award in Spring 2017 through our schools Greek Life Organization, and we could not be more proud. We often go on service trips, but one trip we have taken the past two semesters is to a homeless shelter in Harrisburg with the Silence of Mary Troupe. This service trip touches each and every one of us because we get to see how our one day of work brings smiles and comfort to the homeless individuals and families of Harrisburg . Alpha Sigma Tau will continue to be an active sorority in the community and we will strive to contribute our share to the progress of mankind.
