Greek Week 2017

Spring 2017’s Greek Week was full of high competition and Alpha Sigma Tau came out in a close second place! After working hard all year to improve in our events, we placed in the majority of the events. The theme of Greek Week Spring 2017 was “Nintendo” and Alpha Sigma Tau was assigned the country France. The week started off by competitions in basketball and dodgeball, where we took first and second place. We also competed and placed in many fun activities such as volleyball, soccer, and football! Later in the week, AST snatched up first place in the egg toss and second place in corn hole! As the week came to an end we were excited for the final competition, Lip Sync. We were neck and neck tied with Delta Zeta and it was up to this last event to determine who would take first. Our theme was “Movie Throwbacks” and choreographed dances to the songs “Time of My Life”, "Greece Lightening” and more. Our excitement, costumes, and advanced dance moves allowed this to be a huge hit throughout the crowd! AST ended up scoring 3rd in Lip Sync and 2nd overall!

We value athletics but more importantly, we value teamwork. As sisters, we always have each other’s backs, making it that much easier for us to work together and succeed. Getting the chance to work together as a team and progress as sisters is what being an AST is all about. No matter what situation, we take pleasure in all being together during this exciting time of the school year; we are eager to see what next year will bring and hopefully become back to back Greek Week champions!

Sober Mixers

The Alpha Sigma Tau Beta Epsilon chapter is very well known around campus. The last few semesters we have kept fellow Greek organizations, sports teams, and especially our sisters close. Although we are one of the smallest sororities on campus we have quite a social life. This fall the sisters of Alpha Sigma Tau, along with the sisters of Kappa Beta Gamma, spent a day picking pumpkins and going on a hay ride. Who doesn't love some good fall fun?

Sisterhoods

During the past few semesters we have had numerous sisterhoods ranging from getting dinner on campus to having a potluck for super bowl.  One of our favorite bonding times is during our annual Pollyanna.  The sisters buy or make personalized gifts to give to each other before we all leave for winter vacation.  One of our more recent sisterhoods was saying a farewell to our graduating seniors. This semester we are planning to make cards for our soldiers over seas as part of our community service. We will continue to keep eating weekly meals together and doing numerous sisterhoods to help continue to strengthen our bond as sisters.
